One day there was a mom asked to me (Ayah Edy, The founder of Indonesian Strong from Home) “Ayah, I heard your son is homeschooling, right? It must be complicated because you are the presenter and also, you homeschooled your own son.”

“As we know, there are 16 lessons in the school, so how do you teach your son?” she added.

“Oh.. I don’t feel so complicated or be complicated, because I just teach my son with 2 lessons. Firstly, I teach him how to have a fun or play something creatively according to his own imagination and secondly, how to know which one is wrong and good and how to keep surviving correctly in the wrong environment.”

All of sudden, she was shocked with my answer, speechless to stare me, looked not confidence with what I had just said to her. No idea was on her mind.

What he tells us above is the most important part of learning for children which mostly bases on the successful story of men/women, namely TO KNOW WHICH ONE IS WRONG AND GOOD FOR SURE AND TO KEEP SURVIVING CORRECTLY EVENTHOUGH THEY ARE IN THE WRONG ENVIROMENT.

But unfortunately, the kids obligate to learn 16 lessons in their schools and also, they do not teach them how to play or have a fun, so the kids are like ROBOT, too serious, have no sense of humour, easy to be stress, easy to be offended and easy to be angry and the end, they will befriend to what we call diseases, such as: migraine, stomach ache, insomnia, hypertension, and etc.

In the result, their answers are on the drugstore. They will do everything for getting a better score in their reports. Consequently, the drugstore will get benefits from this terrible disaster.

We cannot sit and see this happen easily in front of us. We have to think back and do all action we can for this matter, to think: what’s wrong with Indonesia? What will our children (if you have) behave? What’s with 16 lessons in our children’s school?

Let us think together to find the better solution for this problem.

Jika diperhatikan, masalah Freeport ini disebabkan oleh 3 hal yang saling terkait yaitu kontrak karya (KK) yang bermasalah, tekanan asing serta kebijakan ekonomi kapitalisme neoliberal.

Kontrak Karya I (KK I) maupun KK II isinya sangat merugikan Indonesia. KK I ditandatangani oleh Soeharto sebagai Ketua Presidum Kabinet pada tanggal 7 April 1967 dan berlaku untuk Kuasa Pertambangan (KP) selama 30 tahun. Freeport mendapatkan berbagai keistimewaan sebagai perusahaan asing yang beroperasi di Indonesia tetapi tidak terdaftar di Indonesia dan tidak tunduk dengan hukum Indonesia, mendapatkan tax holiday setelah tiga tahun berproduksi dan tanpa royalti sampai tahun 1984 serta keistimewaan lainnya. Belum lagi selesai masa kontraknya, pada Desember 1991 dibuat KKI II yang memberi hak kepada PTFI selama 30 tahun sampai tahun 2021 dan bisa diperpanjang 2 kali 10 tahun atau sampai tahun 2041.

Keistimewaan luar biasa yang diberikan kepada Freeport ini, tentu saja tidak bisa dilepaskan dari tekanan Amerika. Tekanan asing dilakukan oleh pemerintah AS ketika itu karena “berjasa besar” membantu pemerintah Soeharto dalam penumpasan G30S/PKI. Utang budi inilah yang digunakan sebagai “senjata” Freeport dan pemerintah AS untuk menekan Indonesia sehingga menerima begitu saja permohonan KP yang sangat merugikan itu. Semua ini menjadi legal dengan kebijakan ekonomi Negara yang neo liberal yang disahkan dengan undang-undang neo liberal. Berdasarkan doktrin kapitalisme, pemerintah tidak boleh ikut campur dalam kegiatan ekonomi dan harus diserahkan kepada swasta. Akibatnya, pengelolaan kekayaan alam termasuk barang tambang diserahkan kepada swasta terutama asing melalui kontrak karya (seperti pengelolaan tambang tembaga, emas dan perak di Papua Barat kepada PTFI) atau melalui Production Sharing Contact.

Akibat dari semua itu, sebagian besar kekayaan alam yang merupakan milik rakyat dikuasai dan dinikmati swasta terutama asing. Lebih ironis lagi, rakyat nyaris tidak mendapat apa-apa dari hasil kekayaan alam milik mereka itu. Rakyat – khususnya yang ada disktr tambang – justru menderita banyak kerugian karena lingkungan alam yang rusak, pencemaran, limbah dan tailing, rusaknya sumber penghasilan mereka dan penyakit social lainnya.

Ibu itu pun pucat, setelah lelaki itu pergi, dia berkata “Janganlah engkau membuat anakku seperti lelaki buruk itu.”

Pada malam harinya, sang lelaki yang terlihat kaya dan ramah tamah itu justru minum minum di kamarnya dan berfoya-foya menghabiskan uangnya entah karena kekayaannya atau karena stress, sedangkan lelaki yang terlihat pemabuk itu malah melakukan hal sebaliknya, dia justru solat beribadah dan berdoa terus menerus seakan-akan dia lelah kehidupannya.

So apa yang kita bisa ambil dari cerita ini adalah kita tidak bisa menilai seseorang hanya dengan melihat penampilan luarnya.

The Indonesian people still need nationalism, albeit of a different kind, when facing a globalization movement.

As we know, now we are facing a different situation than the one in the pre-independence period when we were facing Dutch colonization. Our enemy what we face this era is capitalism. This method had been done by many countries. And we are the victim of capitalism. The people who use this method, of course they get much benefit. Not only money they got but also a huge power. They take our rights and never care about the poor. So how could they wipe away the poverty? No answer provides.

However, the nationalism was eroding among our people. This happened because there were some people fought each other. Their reason was to defend their existence or tribe. Such as GAM (Free Aceh Movement) had involved in this matter and yet our lately problem in Ambon, they fought for surviving. These troubles proved to us that there was no welfare and also, no overcoming from the government.

So how can we fight against this endlessly suffering if we are not united? To be sure, the government need to do a resolute action against the perpetrators. If they cannot, we have to be aware by ourselves.

Traffic accident has been increasing for along this mudik lebaran season on the year of 2011. Today, based on cop’s note, there were 4006 cases. These numbers grew up around 996, compared to last year, there were only 3010 cases. Luckily, the victims decreased from 746 to 661 people for this year but there were lots of accidents happened. It was around 33%. Therefore the victims got severely injured.

Hit in front or “adu banteng”, this kind of accident has taken at least 81 victims. The collision happened because there were a factor of human error or the drivers got sleepy when they did drive. So when they blacked out, they hit to each other. Not only ‘adu banteng’ but also the single accident, such as the rider of motorcycle had more than two passengers on his backseat. The victims of this case reached 104 people. This showed about people who did not want to be ruled although there was a warning from police or maybe police did not warn them. There were 32 cases and 88 riders got this terrible disaster.

Doubtlessly, these happened because of human error or maybe they were too weary to do driving for 24 hours per day. Perhaps the government could help them by providing the good road and the good attention which could be done by police for 24 hours.
